Toby Harps On Essence Of Thanksgiving
The former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Sir. G.T.G. Toby has enjoined mankind to regularly give thanks to God for his act of providence.
Toby made the call Tuesday at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church Woji Deanery at the thanksgiving service for God’s faithfulness and mighty deliverance of his wife, Dame Christy.
The Rivers ex-deputy governor said that regularly thanksgiving to God attracts more blessings for humanity.
The celebrant, Dame Christy, in an interview with newsmen said that the service was organized to thank God for his mighty healing powers upon her life.
Mrs Toby who confirmed fruitless effort to prove what was wrong with her, however, said that the moment compelled her to put all her trust in God which eventfully attracted this healing power.
She expressed gratifute to God for healing and blessing her and urged others to put their trust in God since he would never disappoint them.
The commissioner for information and communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari said the thanksgiving was necessary to appreciate Godis love, care and support.
In his sermon entitled, “God of refuge from the storm” Rev. Canon Alex Osifohstressed the need for people to put their trust in God.
The clergy man who spoke of the need for regular prayers remarked that God does not fail His people.
Mrs. Ibim Semenitari read the first Bible lesson at the service, while Dame Christy Toby took the second lesson.
Among the dignaritaries that attended the thanksgiving service were the State Head of Service, Mrs Esther Anucha and her husband, Dr. Dominic Anucha, the former Deputy Governor of the State.
