Okoye University Donates Computers To ATCOICOE
Bishop Okoye University has donated assorted sets of modern computers with accessories worth several thousands of naira to African Thinkers Community of Inquiry College of Education (ATCOICOE).
Making the donation during the institution’s 6th matriculation ceremony held at its main campus, Enugu, recently the Vice Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, expressed satisfaction with the standard of the school since its inception.
The gesture, he explained was a way of encouraging the institution, saying that it deserves the support and encouragement of all and Sundry so as to move the institution forward.
According to the VC, a Professor, it is also aimed at enhancing the administrative activities of the institution, especially now that computer is ruling the world and the entire globe is moving from analogue to digitalisation.
He assured that the ivory lower would continue to support and identify with the school at all times.
While advising those that would use the facilities to do so with care, the Catholic Priest also charged students of the school to always take their studies very seriously, especially with the availability of necessary learning facilities in the school.
In his remark at the event, which attracted scores of who is who in the education sector both within and outside Enugu State, founder/president of the ATCOICOE, Rev. Fr. Stan Anih, said the philosophy of the institution is to build on the grand norms of truth, justice, love, peace and non-violence, adding that, it’s aim is also to build top-class teachers for the nation.
“Fr. Anih, who is also the founder of the proposed coal city university, Enugu, further stated that the school, “shall have demonstrable and positive impact on the socio-cultural economic and political development of the nation for the benefit of mankind.”
He stated that the vision, mission and objective of the institution is to empower teachers/educators to participate in the healthy act of a daily reflective synergic thinking.
The ATCOICOE boss, urged the matriculating students to be proud of the institution, saying its emphasis is to produce devout, well-grounded leaders executives, analysts, entrepreneurs, industrialists, and scientists who would meet the challenges of the contemporary world and serve as positive influence in the society.
Also speaking, chairman, governing council of the institution, His Royal Highness (HRH), Igwe Dr. B.C Nnachetam in his speech, described the school as a special centre for learning committed in closing some of the gaps created in the nation’s educational system, especially as regards the issue of lack of creative thinking and reasoning among contemporary students.
