RSG Restates Commitment To Training
The Rivers State Government has restated its commitment towards training and retraining of civil servants to boost productivity in the state.
Head of Service, Mrs. Esther Anucha said this at the closing ceremony of a one-week Capacity Building Workshop for public servants in the state.
Mrs. Anucha, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Training and Pension Bureau, Mr. Gift Chima Ake said the present administration places high premium on human capacity development.
She charged participants to put into practice the knowledge they had acquired in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies with a view to improving on their level of productivity.
Also speaking, the representative of the Head of Service of the Federation Mr. Emmanuel Adiele said the progromme is mandatory for every civil servant and serves as criteria for promotion to higher grades.
In his speech, the Director-General of the Adminisrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Mr Adewale Peters said the programme was meant to import the requisite knowledge to civil servants to enable them contribute towards the implementation of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG).
The ASCON Director General, who was represented by Mr. Michael Whetode also urged participants to replicate the knowledge acquired in their various ministries.
