Oshie Community Alerts On Impostors
The people of Oshie community in Ahoada West Local Government Area, Rivers State have appealed to the authorities to intervene in the activities of some members of the Akala Olu community to forestall breakdown of law and order.
The Oshie community made the request recently during the birthday celebraion of the member representing Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni and Ahoada West Local Government Council Areas in the Federal House of Representatives.
According to the community, the alleged illegal recognition of some members of Oshie community as leaders was capable of causing intra-communal disorder.
Speaking through the paramount ruler of Oshie community, HRH Roland C. Dodo, the people also claimed that activities of some members of the community had led to Agip Oil Company’s stoppage of revenue accruing to the Oshie community, actions that they assert, could threaten the peace there.
However, the community expressed satisfaction with the representation of Hon. Asita O. Asita and the local government boss, Hon Miller Awori, but urged them to do more towards development of Oshie community.
Also speaking, the chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Council, Hon. Miller Awori, used the occasion to charge the Oshie community to be law abiding and warned against vandalisation of state and council projects in their communities.
Speaking to newsmen after a birthday celebration, Ward I councillor in Ahoada West Legislative Assembly, Hon Ogbe O.B John, described Hon (Barr) Miller Awori as a hardworking and God-fearing youngman whose character and achievements had distinguished him as a great achiever and role model in the local government area.
The event featured performances such as the cutting of Hon Asita’s birthday cake, cultural dancers and also donation of ten (10) chairs and two footballs for youths of the area.
