School Lauds RSNC Over Publishing Strides
Teachers and Pupils of the Word of Faith Secondary School have commended the Rivers State Newspaper Corpration (RSNC), publishers of the Tide Group of Newspapers for maintaining the lead in printing and publishing in the Niger Delta region.
The teachers and pupils who were on an excursion exercise at the RSNC on Thursday said the government owned newspaper corporation has continued to produce three newspapers titles, including printing even with the harsh economic condition and environment.
Expressing satisfaction and appreciation over the commitment shown by workers in the corporation to ensure that the newspapers are regularly printed, the leader of the Excursion Team and the school’s librarian, Mrs. Eburuche France said the task was challenging.
She however, called on government to improve the equipment in the corporation, most especially she pointed out that the computer Section need to be upgraded to measure up to the current needs in newspaper making business.
Commenting on why the school choosed RSNC for the exercise, Mrs. Eburuche averred that presently it is the only newspaper industry existing in Rivers State coupled with its reach and equipment.
The Word of faith secondary school Librarian noted that the institution took its students for the facility visit to practicalize what the pupils have already been taught on publishing and paper production.
By seeing the equipment physically, she observed that the students would be exposed to the workings in the newspaper industry.
Mrs. Eburuche remarked that the visit would be a starting point of a new relationship between the school and RSNC, saying that what they saw would helped them a lot.
She commended staffers and management of RSNC for the hospitality displayed during the visit.
About 20 students selected from Js1 to Js3 participated in the tour which took them round major departments of the corporation, including the printing hall.
