Derby Win Against MFM Excites Biffo
Kwara United’s gaffer, AbdullahiBiffo is delighted with his side’s success over MFM FC in Lagos on Sunday.
The Afonja Warriors defeated the Church Boys 1-2 on their way to a massive derby win
Junior Lokosa netted the opener inside opening two minutes before Alao Danbami made it 2-0 eight minutes later.
Elijah Akanni pulled one back for the hosts in the 17th minute, but it was enough to inspire a comeback as the Kwarans held on for an important win.
With this victory, Kwara United have now picked four points from the last two away matches and they move to fifth position on the table although one point behind Remo Stars who occupies the last continental spot.
In a chat with the team’s Technical Adviser immediately after the match, Coach AbdullahiBiffo said “we had our game plan before the match and it has turned out as planned, we had the two-goal opportunity at the first half of the game and we utilized it before they reduced the margin through a free-kick which ended in 2-1 at half-time”
“I told my boys to come out stronger at them at the second half, if we can’t score any more goals in the second half, we should do all our possible best to defend the two-goal advantage, since our game plan was to get three maximum points and we had the opportunity already and so be it.”
