Dolpins Savour Confed Cup Draw
Following what has been seen to be an easy draw for one of Nigeria’s flag bearers in the CAF Conferenderation Cup first round matches, the Media Officer of Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, China Acheru, has said that the club is happy with the draw against Leonas Vegeterianos FC of Equatorial Guinea.
Acheru told newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday that the management of Dolphins saw the draw as a fair one.
Dolphins would play away to the Equatorial Guinea club on the weekend of March 13, 14 and 15, 2015.
“The truth is that Nigerian clubs are not hundred per cent ready because our season ended three weeks ago with the Federation Cup final.
“Right now, the clubs are in the process of registering players for the competition. The clubs are looking for easy draws.
“At least, we are going to Malabo, it is better than going to Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco or even Congo,” he said.
Acheru said Dolphins would work hard to win the first round match and be prepared for second round opponents.
“We will do our best to handle Leonas Vegeterianos FC , knowing that if we win that game, our next opponent is Club African of Tunisia, which is more difficult.
“ By that time, we would have had some games in the league and be more match fit.
“We are happy about the draw. It’s not the best draw and but it’s not the worst, and it’s something that we can handle,” the Media Officer said.
