U-20 W/Cup: Nigerian Stars Salute Falconets,
Nigerian stars, Austin Okocha and Bright Dike have saluted the Falconets despite losing a second World Cup final to Germany early Monday.
Nigeria lost 1-0 to Germany after extra time in the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, four years after they lost to the same team 2-0 also in the championship game.
Okocha said the Nigeria girls were unlucky.
“What a way to lose a World Cup final match? The girls and their handlers did their best. It just wasn’t our day,” the ex-Nigeria skipper tweeted.
Super Eagles striker Bright Dike said he was proud of his sister Courtney and the entire team for their gallant effort.
“Well done girls. Very proud of my sister @CourtneyDike and Nigeria,” Dike tweeted.
