328 Supporters Cheer Eagles At Brazil
No fewer than 382 sup
porters of Super Eagles are in Brazil to cheer the team in the on-going FIFA World Cup.
The supporters left the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos aboard a chartered aircraft for the World Cup in Brazil.
Managing Director, Wakanow Travel and Tours Ltd, Mr Obinna Ekezie, said the special flight to Brazil would reduce the stress associated with connecting flights.
Wakanow is the agent engaged by Nigeria Football Federation to facilitate the journey of the supporters club to Brazil.
The supporters were dressed in green and white attire as they checked for the flight operated by Air Asia.
The company operates an Airbus 340 and is expected to operate three rotations throughout the tournament.
Ekezie said that Wakanow was fully mobilised to ensure the comfort of Nigerians in Brazil during the Word Cup.
He said the company had made arrangements for hotel and domestic shuttles in Brazil for the supporters.
“We decided to get a chartered flight that will take Nigerians directly, which will be seven to eight hours to Brazil, and we will also cater for them there.
“We will get them hotels and ground transportation and make sure that we get them logistic services.
“We have hired translators, we have even contracted restaurant in Brazil that cooks Nigerian food, all these are things that we are willing to do for the Nigerian passengers.
“We hope that Nigerian team will perform well in Brazil.
‘Super Eagles have the best chance at the World Cup and we are very happy with that and the opportunity given to us as an official travel partner by the Nigerian Football Federation.’’
Ekezie said the supporters would be given International SIM cards, adding that they already had a roaming partner who would take them round in Brazil.
