RSG Explains Hosting Of National Sports Competitions

nor has reiterated its willingness to host national sports events because of the state of arts facilities put in place by the present administration in the state.
The state governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi stated this in Port Harcourt at the weekend while declaring open the 19the edition of Chief Justice of Nigeria Sports Competition being hosted by Rivers State.
The governor who was represented by the commissioner for sports Mr Fred Igwe commended the organisers of the competition adding that it would help to discover talents in the judiciary arm of the government.
Earlier, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mariam Aloama Mukhta had urged civil servants in the country to participate in sporting activities in order to live a healthy life.
Represented by Justice Bayang Amai Akaah, she described sports as a veritable tools in promoting a healthy living in the society.
According to him, sports promotes good living that would enable civil servants function effectively at their duty post as well as increases productivity.
She enjoined participating states to be orderly and ensure that decorum and transparency were the hallmarks of every event throughout the competition.
In the opening Matche played over the weekend at the Sharks Football Stadium, Rivers State team defected the defending champion Akwa Ibom State 1-0.
36 States including Abuja, and legal institutions are participating in the sports competition.
