GM Assures Group Of Partnership … Tasks NUPPPPROW Executive
The General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of The Tide Newspapers, Mr. Celestine Ogolo, has pledged the readiness of the corporation to partner with the Edogh Abuan Development Association, a non-governmental organisation, in the promotion of peace and development in the society.
The General Manager gave the assurance in his office when the Board of Trustees of the Association paid him a courtesy call.
The General Manager commended the Association over its vision which is centred on education and development.
He said the Rivers State government place so much premium on education, and called on the body to see it as a duty to educate the people on the use and protection of government investments and public utilities.
He pointed out that The Tide, as a newspaper was poised to give quality service to the people of Rivers State and Nigeria in general.
Earlier, the President of the Association, Dr. George Matthew Ela, had said that the Association, was in the Corporation to seek areas of partnership to promote peace, and development in Abua and Rivers State in general.
He said the Association, as an NGO was concerned about social re-engineering and re-integration in the area, especially on the part of the youths, who are one of the most vulnerable groups in the society.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo has challenged the new executive of National Union of Printing, Publishing and Paper Product Workers (NUPPPPROW), The Tide Unit, on the vision of the Corporation and the Association’s welfare as well.
Ogolo’s said at the unit executive’s courtesy visit to the management of the Corporation, that achievement is made through determination and commitment.
He urged the new Unit executive of the Association to be committed in the development of the union and the Corporation as their employer and commended the past unit executive for their commitment and hardwork in supporting the corporation vision as well protect the interests of the Association in any given situation.
The GM reiterated the management’s commitment to treat every workers of the Corporation including the Association members perfectly as workers should avoid anything that would robbed them into disreputes.
