Clerics Harp On Christ’s Teachings
Christians have been told to uphold the teachings of Christ and shun all wordily things and temptations.
The Bishop of Christ Army Church of Nigeria (CACN), Rivers South Diocese, Rt Rev Wilson Buse Johnson, made the call while speaking to our correspondent during the licensing and ordination service held at St Michael’s CACN, New Haven, Ogu in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Rivers State on Sunday.
Rt Rev Johnson said Christians should live exemplary life in all their endeavours, saying they should not be deceived by worldly things.
He enjoined the newly ordained members to live upto expectation as worthy ambassadors of the church, adding that as chosen vessels in God’s vineyard, much is expected of them.
Earlier in his sermon titled “Do not be touched by every wind of doctrine”, Venerable Owens Sunday Koko appealed to Christians to shun false prophecy, as a day of reckoning is coming when all would give account of their stewardship.
Venerable Koko further admonished Christians to be steadfast in Christ, work towards their salvation and always pray as the times are evil.
The secretary to the Deputy Leader, Rivers State House of Assembly, and House Committee Clerk on Ethics and Privileges, Solomon Emmanuel Dickson Iyaye who is also the Synod National Secretary was ordained as a venerable while William Dabipi and Kingsley Kalio were licensed as deacons.
The service was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life including a former Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Rivers State, Comrade Joy Inimgba Koko, former Vice Chairman, Ogu/Bolo LGA, Hon Anthony Ibifuro among others.
