Aspirant Decries PH Stampede
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Port Harcourt City Federal Constituency II in the forthcoming general election, Mrs. Blessing Ibiba Nsiegbe has described as unfortunate the stampede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally in Port Harcourt which caused the death of eleven persons.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Mrs. Nsiegbe also expressed sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased, urging them to take solace in the fact that God knows why it happened.
The PDP House of Representative hopeful also commiserated with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the Governor of Rivers State Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi and the mayor of Port Harcourt, Chief Azubuikie Nmerukini over the incident.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Nsiegbe has commended the wife of the Mayor of Port Harcourt City, Mrs. Oroma Nmerukini for floating a scholarship for orphans in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, she said the programme will provide opportunities for orphans in the city to realise their ambitions.
