Monarch Canvasses Dev Training For Youths

The traditional ruler and Okpalaukwu of Ndoni, Chief Gabriel Okeya Obi II, has spoken of the need to equip youths for the political and socio-economic development of society as future leaders.

Chief Gabriel Okeya Obi II, made the remark after the inauguration of a new executive of Ndoni Youths Association at Ndoni in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area.

The traditional ruler charged the new executive to work in line with the tradition and culture of the people which accord respect to elders and constituted authority.

As the custodian of Ndoni culture, the traditional ruler charged the youth leaders to work with the fear of God.

This, they could be rendering selfless and qualitative service of Ndonians and the people of the area.

In a speech, the National Publicity Secretary of Ndoni, Chief Stanley Opia Obi, stressed the need for all hands to be on deck in realisation of laudable objectives.

Chief Obi, the Ogbajinigwe of Ndoni, described youths as engine room for the economic emancipation of any society.

The elected officers include Mr. Amaechi Sylvester Okwuosa, President, Mr. Victor Ofunwa, Vice President, Mr.Victor Ajukwu, Secretary, Mr. Chuka Ezeugbor, Assistant Secretary, Mr. Vincent Onyema, Financial Secretary while Mr. Jude Ezekwudo is to serve as Assistant Secretary.

Other are Mr. Obi Onususa, Treasurer, Mr. Obi Odili, PRO, Mr. Benjamin Okey Akugbueze, Provost, Mr. Ikechukwu Efosa, Organising Secretary, Mr. Sunday Odili, Circular Bearer, Mr. Ifeanyi Obochi, Auditor One, Mr. Nwachukwu Chukwuma, Auditor Two and Mr. Ijeoma Nwachukwu is Auditor three.

The rest are Mr. Ossai Obi, Mr. Eke Opene, Mr. Nnamdi Atashia, Mr. Samuel Odili, Mr. Ossai Akpati, Mr. Uche Ossai, Mr. Ikechukwu Ossai and Mr. Edwin Opene are to serve as Ex-officio.

In his post-election speech, the President, Mr. Amaechi Sylvester Okwuosa thanked the youths of Ndoni for the confidence reposed in them, promising to carry everybody along in the scheme of things in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the body.

The highlight of the Ndoni Youths Association successful election was the thanksgiving mass at Saint Patricks Catholic Church, Ndoni during which, the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Fabian Anele, appealed to the new executive to be honest, humane and humble in their service to God and humanity.

The thanksgiving mass was attended by dignitaries from various walks of life.

HoS Hails Fubara Over Provision of Accommodation for Permanent Secretaries

The Head of Service (HoS) of Rivers State, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi S. I. Brown, has commended Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, for approving befitting accommodation for Permanent Secretaries in the state.

This commendation was contained in a press release made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.

According to the Head of Service, Governor Fubara has continued to demonstrate uncommon commitment to the welfare of civil servants in Rivers State, stressing that such gestures underscore his people-oriented leadership style. She urged civil servants across the state to remain supportive of the governor’s administration in order to sustain good governance and effective public service delivery.

Speaking on behalf of the Body of Permanent Secretaries, Dr. Brown congratulated Governor Fubara on the occasion of his 51st birthday, describing him as “a Governor who leads by serving.”

She further praised the governor’s service-driven and people-centred leadership approach, noting that it has significantly contributed to institutional stability and improved efficiency within the state’s public service. As part of activities to mark the governor’s birthday, the Body of Permanent Secretaries announced the sponsorship of 329 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for indigent students across the state.

A breakdown of the initiative shows that 319 forms will be distributed across the 319 political wards in Rivers State, while five forms are allocated to non-indigenes and five forms to persons living with disabilities.
