Stakeholders Move For World Igbo Day/New Yam Celebration
Igbo stakeholders in Rivers State have held a meeting in Port Harcourt tagged Joint Igbo Community meeting where they discussed the way forward for Ndi-Igbo and inaugurated various committees in preparation for the 2023 World Igbo Day / New Yam Festival celebration.
The Joint Igbo Community meeting which was well attended by various Igbo indigenes was organised by Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, United Igbo Community, Eze Ndigbo and his Council of Chiefs.
The United Igbo Community led by Barrister Emmanuel Okpara as the President, spoke to newsmen on the significance of the meeting.
On his part, the President of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo in Rivers State, Chief Lucky Ekeji called for the participation of all Igbos in the State to achieve a colourful 2023 World Igbo Day celebration.
Earlier, Eze Ndi-Igbo in Rivers and Bayelsa, Eze Adiele Maduagwu while inaugurating the committee for World Igbo Day celebration, urged them to put in their best, especially in the discharge of their duties.
The inaugurated Committee for World Igbo Day is chaired by Chief Bestman Ike, while Ndi-Ichie Committee is chaired by Chief Udoka Bestman, 50 inaugurated Igbo stakeholders are headed by Chief Dan Nwogu and High Chief Uchenna Okokoba to coordinate members within and outside Rivers State for the Igbo Day celebration.
