Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has joined other people of goodwill across the globe to felicitate with the First Military Governor of Rivers State and Amanyanabo of Twon Brass, King Alfred Diette-Spiff as he celebrates his 80th Birthday.
In a statement in Government House, Port Harcourt, yesterday, Banigo described Diette-Spiff as the man who laid the foundation for the development of the Old Rivers State.
Banigo said as a young military administrator and member of the Supreme Military Council, during the turbulent Nigeria civil war and post-civil war era, Diette-Spiff left indelible footprints of astute administration, projects execution and overall human capital development, which according to the deputy governor gave the state a pride of place in the comity of states.
The deputy governor, who prayed the Almighty God to continue to bless and keep King Alfred Diette–Spiff in good health, expressed delight that the Universal Peace Builders Association, an International NGO is organising a Colloquium, Birthday Celebration and Book Launch in his honour.
