Rivers Police Arrest Kingpin Of Notorious Gang
Men of the Bori Anti-cultism unit of the Nigerian Police Force have arrested the leader of the notorious bombabri kidnapping gang in Zor Sogho.
This followed the discovery of their hideout, from where their operations are cooked before execution.
The leader of the group identified as Fela was apprehended after a shoot- out with men of the anti-cultism unit.
The confession of the pilot of the group at Kaani junction in Bori in an earlier arrest made by the police, facilitated the later attempt.
An Okada rider caught as a suspect, confessed he usually carried unsuspecting members of the society on his bike to their hideout.
Other members of the gang, who also hail from Zor Sogho and Nonwa, Tai respectively, were also arrested.
Disclosing this to our correspondent, a police officer who pleaded anonymity, advised the public to be vigilant and security conscious when using public transport as this is another means through which the kidnappers get their victims.
