Akah Tasks Christians On Giving …As RSUBEB Hosts 2021 Carol
The Executive Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, (RSUBEB), Ven. Fyneface Ndubishi Akah, has called on Christians world over to see Christmas season as a period of giving and extend helping hands to the needy and less privileged in the society.
Akah made this call while speaking at the 2021 Carol of Nine Lessons organised by the Rivers SUBEB held at the Board Headquarters in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
He opined that human beings become Christians through the grace of God, saying that the season of Christmas has come and should be a season for giving and good tidings.
According to him, Christians are supposed to be vanguard of good tidings as the birth of Jesus Christ was an indication of God’s love to human kind.
“A time to exchange word of love, care and good tidings to the world. Reach out to the world by giving thanks. Time to exchange gifts,” he stated
The RSUBEB helmsman said that the carol of nine lessons was organised to praise God through our lips and submit our emotions, feelings under the guards of angels and shepherds, adding that the reflection of the praise and supplications will bring wisdom and healing of souls and abundance of grace.
He assured the audience that as they sing and listen to the lyrics of the songs which are life changing words of God with focus and with renewed spirit, the songs will lead them to self baptism and transformation.
Earlier in his sermon, the guest preacher, Pastor Ovunda Ogbonna Orji disclosed that returning gratitude to God makes ways for more blessings and opportunities, adding that the importance of appreciating God over His grace and benevolence can not be over-emphasised.
According to him, our blessings are perfected, when we learn how to appreciate God “we have spiritual blessings, when we make thanksgiving as our life styles. Moreso, we owe God thanksgiving for divine fulfillment of prophecy”, he stated.
The Tide reports that nine Bible lessons were read, while SUBEB choir also featured during the programme.
