Rivers Poly Wins 2020 Engineering Students’ Project Contest
The Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, near Port Harcourt has won this year’s Nigerian Engineering Society’s Engineering Week.
The institution won the NSE, Port Harcourt Branch 2020 Engineering Week Students’ Project Competition with the theme: ‘Re-Engineering Engineers for Optimum National Economic Development and Growth: Post-Covid-19 Perspective’.
The donor of the trophy, Prof. Kelvin Bob-Manuel, who personally presented the trophy to Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic for keeps, pronounced the institution as the winner of the competition from the cream of other tertiary institutions in the state.
The Acting Dean, School of Engineering Technology, CEAPOLY, Engr. F. O. C. Nwaduwa, who led Okpabi Churemi Happiness, ND2, Department of Elect/Elect; and Amadi Samuel Osita, ND2 Department of Computer Engineering to the competition, expressed joy at the victory.
While presenting the trophy to the Rector of CEAPOLY, Dr. Samuel Kalagbor, Nwaduwa recalled the history of the competition, and stated that the victory would not have been possible without the support, love and fatherly role of the Rector, Dr. Samuel Kalagbor.
He also appreciated the Welding and Fabrication Unit of the polytechnic for their role in actualizing the dream.
The rector congratulated the dean and the students for making the institution proud.
