N’ Delta Group Blames Politicians For N’East Killings
Convener, South-South Reawakening Group (SSRG), Joe Ambakaderimo, has blamed politicians for the incessant killings by some terrorist groups in the north- eastern part of the country.
Ambakaderimo regretted that Nigeria had been made a ritualist nation by power thirsty politicians who sponsor the massive killings in some parts of the country to deride a particular government.
The convener of the group in an exclusive telephone chat said those who are desperately seeking for power have made the country a killing field, just to score a cheap political point.
“We must all condemn in its entirety the killings that have engulfed this country and call out those responsible for justice whenever they are identified.
“We have all suddenly become ritualists in Nigeria. We take turn to demonise and bring each other down. The political class is the culprit in this. They sponsor the killings of innocent and defenceless Nigerians just to bring down their opponents.
“The pattern they adopt is that they go to one remote community and kill as many defenceless people as they can and splash the news on the front pages of newspapers and we will rise and label their opponent clueless and incompetent,” he claimed.
Ambakaderimo expressed sadness that no premium is placed on human life in the country and has become so cheap that people take delight in sharing the pictures of these gruesome killings on social media.
“For those who share such videos and pictures we say you are an accomplice because your actions emboldened the killers,” he said.
