Board Tasks Christians On Self-Sponsorship To Holy Land
A member of Rivers State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Rev Georgwill. W. Peter, has urged the public to sponsor themselves for pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
Rev Peter made the call during this call during the 2015 national conference on church management, organised by Church Management Support Ministry (CRNS) an affiliate of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Port Harcourt.
Peter, who is also the chairman of Rivers State Local Government CAN said the forms are available for any interested person, adding that the government is ready to assist anybody who is interested to sponsor self in the process of securing visa.
He maintained that government would not sponsor any person for pilgrimage in the state.
Also speaking, the President of Church Management Support Ministry (CRNS), Mr. Kayode Nisi, said the ministry is not competing with any church, but striving to profer solution on how to effectively manage a church organisation.
Nisi said the reason for this year’s conference is to enlighten church leaders on how to attain and retain success in their various ministries. A resource person, Prof. Harrison Umoh, who spoke on the theme, “Challenges and Management of Success In Life and Ministry,” said Christians must know that christianity does not imply that challenges will not be experienced. He called on Christian leaders to always remain faithful in times of challenges.
