Ekwe Takes Over Naval Shipyard, PH
Following the recent redeployment of some senior officers of the Nigerian Navy across the country, the Naval Shipyard, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, now has a new officer.
He is Rear Admiral O. E. Ekwe, who takes over from Rear Admiral D. B. Boer, who is now the Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Lagos.
Until his new posting, Rear Admiral Ekwe was the commandant, Nigerian Navy Engineering College , Sapele, Delta State.
It was learnt that the new officer reported at his duty post on Tuesday while handing over formalities are in process.
The Tide gathered in a statement by the Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Commodore Kabiru Aliyu that the former Chief of Naval Standard and Evaluation, Rear Admiral J. O. Aikhomu is now the flag officer, commanding Eastern Naval Command.
It was further gathered that Rear Admiral O. B. Ogunjimi, the former flag officer commanding, Eastern Naval command, is now the Chief of Training and Operations, Naval Headquarters, while Rear Admiral I.E Ibas is now the flag officer commanding, Western Naval Command.
Others are Rear Admiral J. N. Amaino, who was moved from Admiral Superintendent, Navy Dockyard to Director of Marine Engineering, Naval Headquarters; Rear Admiral J. B. Oladimeji has been redeployed from Chief of Policy and Plans, Naval Headquarters to Defence Headquarters as the Chief of Administration; Rear Admiral U. O. Jibrin, from Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters, now the Director of Training, Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral K. O. Komolafe, from Chief of Accounts and Budget to Group Managing Director, Nigerian Navy Holdings; and Rear Admiral E. O. Ogbor has been named the Chief of Policy and Plans, Naval Headquarters.
He was formerly, the Chief of Training and Operations, Naval Headquarters, among others.
It would be recalled that a total of 224 senior officers were redeployed among whom where 49 rear admirals, 106 commodores and 69 captains.
