GM Tasks RSNC Staff On Dedication, Productivity
The General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Mr. Celestine Ogolo, has charged staff of the corporation to re-dedicate themselves to their duties to lift the operations of the corporation to greater heights.
Ogolo gave the charge during a special interactive forum with the editorial department of the parastatal in Port Harcourt, Friday.
The RSNC general manager said while government was committed in repositioning The Tide for greater productivity, through acquisition of rotary machine and capacity development of staffers, the latter had an obligation to rise to the challenge of assisting government in actualising its dreams for The Tide this year.
He stated that the era of “free meals” was over as the present administration in the state was providing a conducive atmosphere for workers through the various workers training workshops it had provided.
While commending efforts made so far in improving the newspaper since his inception as general manager, Mr. Ogolo said all hands must be on deck to lift the corporation to where it supposed to be.
Through synergy and team work, he said that lapses would be reduced and patronage would be improved, adding that the newspaper has the potentials to be the best and the leader in the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.
He assured that management was ready to provide the necessary tools for staffers and remarked that there were plans to expand the paper coverage and reportage in the country.
Earlier in his remarks, Acting Editor (Daily), Mr. Valentine Ugbomah had charged workers to jettison poor attitude to work by rededicating themselves to duty this year.
Mr. Ugbomah urged staffers to view their work as their major source of livelihood and therefore put in their best. He said the future remained bright for the corporation to dominate the newspaper market.
