Rivers Ministry Trains 51 On ICT
The Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism says it has trained 51 of its staff on the use of Information and Communication Technology to boost worker’s performance.
The Permanent Secretary in-charge of the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism Mr Paulinus Nwankwoala made this known at the graduation of the graduands in Port Harcourt.
Nwankwoala, who described ICT as the in-thing now, told the graduands to make good use of the opportunity granted them in order to be relevant in this information age.
According to him, those that are not computer literate can not compete favourably in office duties.
The Permanent Secretary believed that the world’s problem was never development but the state of mind set, adding that if the world can pay more attention to resetting peoples mind, global socio-economic and political problem would be a thing of the past.
He however advised the ICT graduands to see the gesture as a call to greater service and solicited their cooperation in government’s efforts to better the lots of the people.
Nwankwoala noted that his ministry was the first to train staff on ICT, and lauded the commissioner, Hon. Marcus Nle Ejii and the trainers HESS Services for their effort and cooperation in the training of the workers.
Also speaking, a member of HESS Services Mr Babatunde Paul, said the greatest gift to a man should be a gift for change of mind.
