Lawmaker Hands Over Constituency Project In Ndashi
The member representing Etche Constituency I in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Ekeh, has assured the people of even spread of social amenities and infrastructure with his constituency fund to ensure rapid development of the area. Hon Ekeh gave the assurance during the official commissioning and handing over ceremony of an ultra-modern civic centre (Obiri-Ukwu-Ndashi) to the people of Ndashi. He said that the Ndashi civic centre was his constituency project built to alleviate the sufferings of the people during a get-to-gether.
Hon. Ekeh reiterated that the administration of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi was poised to bringing development to the grassroots and provide empowerment to the youths empowerment among other devidend of democracy. “I took it upon myself to toe this line by ensuring that my constituency fund is used for the constituency development and youth empowerment,” he declared.
In his address, the chairman of the occasion and immediate past leader of Asha Elites Front (AEF), Mr. Sebastine Obilor described the civic centre as a magnificent edifice and worthy contribution of the honourable member to the development of Ndashi town.
He stated that the era of Ndashi people gathering under big trees and using school fields for gathering was over as the hall would accommodate over 1000 people.
Mr Obilor finally called on the people of the constituency to support Hon. Ekeh and the government of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi for more dividends of democracy.
Commissioning the project, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Tonye Harry who spoke through his representative, Hon. Emmanuel Okatta enjoined Ndashi people to jealously guard government prosperities located in the area to avert vandalisation by criminals. He called on other members to use constituency money exclusively for the development of their constituencies.
Among other constituency projects embarked upon by Hon. Ekeh are six classroom blocks at Akwukabi and Ogida, building of town halls at Ozuzu and Ihie, health facilities and empowerment of over 50 youths of the area.
