PDP Condemns Political Violence In Edo
The National Working Committee of the
People Democratic Party (PDP) has observed the current political trend in Edo
State with great concern; and is appalled by the dangerous recourse to violence and the resort to baseless
accussations and foul language employed to score cheap political points.
According to a release by the National
Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh the PDP condemns all forms of
violence and can never be involved in murder to achieve its political goals. We
therefore do not need to kill in order to succeed.
“While we sympathise with the Government
and the people of Edo State over the unfortunate murder of the principal
secretary to the Governor Mr. Olaitan Oyerinde, we urge the Edo State Governor
to look beyond his obession with wild accusations agaisnt his opponents and
also consider the possibility of culprits within his set up.”
“We call on the Nigerian public to note
that these accidents and murders in Edo State suddenly emerged upon the
political gains of the PDP in Edo State thriving on the scandals of Governor
Oshiomhole’s private mansion and other nauseating corrupt practices.”
