European Agribusiness Investors To Partner RSG

Two prominent European agribusiness organisations, Farmkraft Limited and ABGs Paula’s International Limited, in collaboration with the Niger Delta Practising Farmers Foundation (NDPFF) have initiated plans to empower Rivers women in agro business.
The collaboration is with the Rivers State Ministry of Women Affairs and is aimed at revolutionising agribusiness towards food security.
Making the plans public during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Women Affairs in Port Harcourt recently, the European delegation, led by Mr. Ambrose Okojie, was welcomed by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Roseline Uranta, Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Uchechukwu Uriri, and other key officials of the Ministry.
In his address, Mr. Okojie expressed appreciation to the governor, Sir Siminilayi Fubara for organising the Rivers State Investment Forum.
The forum had commemorated Fubara’s first year in office and was instrumental in highlighting the administration’s commitment to agribusiness development.
Mr. Okojie emphasised the importance of this partnership, noting its potential to transform the agribusiness landscape in Rivers State by involving women as key stakeholders.
According to Okojie, some of areas of focus include capacity building: offering training and development programmes to enhance the skills and knowledge of women in agribusiness.
Other areas of collaboration include provision of inputs, finance and equipment: supplying the necessary resources, financial support and modern equipment to facilitate successful agricultural ventures.
On her part, Dr. Rose Uranta commended the European delegation, as she reaffirmed the Ministry’s full support for the proposed projects.
She highlighted the Ministry’s dedication to ensuring the successful implementation of these initiatives, which are to drive economic growth and food security in Rivers State.
Mrs. Uchechukwu Uriri also expressed her gratitude to Mr. Okojie and his team for choosing Rivers State and the Ministry of Women Affairs for the transformative partnership.
“This collaboration is a significant milestone in fostering agribusiness growth in Rivers State. By focusing on empowering women and enhancing food security, this partnership promises to bring substantial economic and social benefits to the region,” she said.
The group also sought the commitment of both local and international stakeholders for a shared vision for a prosperous and food-secure Rivers State.
