High Court Dissolves Ikuru Town Youth Congress …As Caretaker Commitee Is Set Up
A Port Harcourt High Court presided over by Hon. Justice G C Aguma has dissolved the Etete Joab Anthony-led executive of the Ikuru Town Youth Congress.
The case was filed in suit No PHC/2404/CS/2023.
The judgment delivered last Monday, also mandated the Okan Ama of Ikuru Town who also doubles as grand patron of the Ikuru Town Youth Congress, King A M Ikuru to set up a caretaker commitee within two months.
Meanwhile, the Okan Ama of Ikuru Town King A M Ikuru has announced the constitution of a five-member caretaker commitee to run the affairs of the Ikuru Town Youth Congress.
The announcement was made at a media briefing in Port Harcourt.
According to the text of the briefing made available to newsmen, the situation was in compliance with a judgment of a High Court delivered last Monday, mandating the King as grand patron of the youth congress to set up a caretaker commitee within two months.
According to the text,”I HRM King A M Ikuru, Okan Ama the V11(Paramount Ruler) of Ikuru Town and Chairman of Andoni Area Traditional Rulers Council, in conjunction with the major stakeholders hereby proclaim the appointment of the following persons into the caretaker commitee of the Ikuru Town Youth Congress “
It gave the names of the members as Alali Ataisi Markinson as chairman, Ikuru Ejitnte Maurice as secretary and Ikuru Gogo Gideon as treasurer.
The rest are Isaac Z Amos, member and Ikuru Ekens Gift as member.
It would be recalled that the Ikuru Town Youth Congress has been embroiled in crisis following allegations and counter-allegations.
