Maintain Close Affinity To Build Strong Unit, Commissioner Charges Youths
The Rivers State Commissioner for Youth Development, Dr Chisom Kenneth Gbali has charged the leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akuku-Toru Chapter, to ensure that they maintain a close affinity to build a strong, progressive and effective unit.
Gbali gave the charge yesterdsy when the president and the executive members of NYCN, Akuku-Toru chapter, led by Comrade Jephter Iyalla Williams paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
This is contained in a statement by the Press Officer, Ministry of Youth Development, ThankGod Nwaeke
The commissioner who explained that the visit was apt, disclosed that the Rivers State ministry of Youth Development, considering the quest of Governor Siminalayi Fubara to change the negative narrative of the state, especially the youths, had chronicled the programmes and activities on how to accommodate and empower Rivers Youths to enable them become self reliance to compete favourably like their counterpart in other clan in the globe.
He maintained that the visit by NYCN to his office has unveiled a falsehood held in the State that Akuku-Toru Local Government Area was not in support of the administration of Governor Fubara.
He noted that any responsible and progressive minded youth in the State now should be able to identify where he belongs, “unless you are comfortable being in the doldrum or confined not being allowed to scout, to adventure into your own endowment.”
He added that “the world is a spectrum and we all have that space to go for our destiny, because it is not in any body’s hand to decide who and where you are supposed to be placed, hence the world is an endless video that whatever you want, you can achieve.
According to him,” the limit of our realization of tomorrow is in our doubt of today and nobody should stop us or limit us to what we can get.”.
The commissioner advised NYCN to organise the youths of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area to enable the ministry sensitize and educate them on the development mantra of Governor Fubara in the State.
Responding, Williams commended the commissioner for the audience granted them despite his busy schedule.
He said that the visit was to intimate the commissioner that the body was being denied all privileges and opportunities by the local government chairman which, according to him, is political.
He, therefore, appealed to the commissioner to include Akuku-Toru youths in the programmes and activities of the State Ministry of Youth Development, while also pledging their total support to Fubara’s administration in the State.
