Group Gives Reasons For CAC Registration, Lists Benefits
The Ikwerre Federated Union (IFU), has regularised its union with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), to enable it carry out legitimate and legal activities within and outside its jurisdiction.
The President of the union, Dr. Paul Wowhor, made this known while presenting the Certificate of Incorporation to Eze Oha Evo III, King Leslie Nyebuchi Eke, Eze Gbakagbaka, at his palace in Woji in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, yesterday.
Wowhor said the need for the regularisation became paramount due to the urgent need to meet up with the yearnings of the group.
He pointed out that Eze Eke was part of the brains behind the registration, thus, the decision to inform him of the development.
The group leader admitted that it was not easy to grant their request earlier due to the aspersion now cast on unions in the country.
“ Eze Leslie Eke is our royal father. CAC also approved our aims and objectives. We now have right to sue and be sued”, he said.
According to him, the movement now has taken a different dimension as serious issues like conflict resolution will be considered by the union henceforth.
He vowed that any aggrieved party concerning their decision in any matter was free to seek further redress from any regular court of their choice.
Meanwhile, the Eze Oha Evo, has warned union against indiscipline and added that any organisation without discipline can not prosper.
He also tasked them on the need for team work, if only they want to be a reference point.
It would be recalled that IFU has been one of the front liners of the Ikwerre cause.
