Foundation Renovates Omagwa Police Station
The management of Asharami Synergy, Sahara Group Foundation, has restated its commitment to improving security of its host communities.
The company said this during the commissioning of the Omagwa Police Station renovated by the company.
Omagwa Police Station in Rivers State has received a facelift following its renovation sponsored by Asharami Synergy through Sahara Group Foundation.
The Tide learnt that the newly commissioned Police Station boasts of a range of enhancements, including major repair of the station’s floors, ceilings, sanitary wares, doors, windows, wall rendering and electrical wiring.
Other renovation work done include construction of a new septic tank and soak away, drive and walkways, provision of a borehole and painting of the building.
Addressing guests at the commissioning ceremony, the Director, Sahara Group Foundation, Ejiro Gray, explained that the renovation and solar installation work carried out at the station is part of the company’s commitment to supporting communities within its environment, saying that it will no doubt help to promote policing in Omagwa and neighbouring communities.
“Through this investment, we are demonstrating our belief in the importance of providing a conducive environment for our law enforcement officers, which would allow them to better serve the communities they safeguard”.
She added that “Sahara Group Foundation is committed to building sustainable societies across Africa, and helping to support a safe society is a critical part of our mandate”.
In his remarks, the Terminal Manager, Asharami Synergy, Onne, Engr. Ikechukwu Diala, said “Investing in robust security infrastructure is vital for economic growth and social stability. At Asharami Synergy, we are dedicated to improving the lives of the people and communities within which we operate”.
He thanked members of the Police Force for their support in ensuring a smooth completion of the project and commended their effort in promoting peace and security in the community.
Also speaking,, the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, CP Amin Baba Raji, represented by the Area Commander in-charge of Airports in South-South, ACP Ireju J. Barasua, said “this is a noteworthy project done by Asharami Synergy and Sahara Group Foundation worthy of emulation”.
She added that “the police station renovation will support improved service delivery and help boost the morale of the police officers”.
ACP Barasua also urged the police officers to take good care of the facility, while also reinforcing the commitment of the police force in maintaining peace and security in the community at large.
Speaking on behalf of the community members, the Airport Landlord Chairman, representing Omagwa and IPO host communities, Comrade Benneth Madukwe thanked Asharami Synergy and Sahara Group Foundation for the project.
He stated that “the upgrade of the police station will definitely support improved security in the host and neighboring communities”.
