Speaking with journalists recently in Port Harcourt on the state of the nation, Cookey Gam appealed to the government to come to the rescue of the people of the region by providing up-to-date infrastructural facilities, such as, roads, better and affordable housing, constant power generation, hospitals, refined school, and agricultural amenities to ease hunger, poverty and unemployment in the area.

Cookey Gam noted that “the Niger Delta people deserve better and human–faced reformation in this present dispensation, despite past neglects by previous administrations”.
He also implored Mr President and other leaders, including governmental agencies, to give listening ears to the yearnings and aspirations of the people in the provision of necessary amenities via the proper resuscitation of the non-performing ministry.
He urged government to gear effort at creating job opportunities to jobless Nigerians of the region, especially the current administration, both at the Federal, State and Local levels to sustain the tempo for posterity.
