Degema NBA Seeks Partnership To Complete Secretariat
The leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Degema Branch, says it is open and soliciting for more public and private partnerships that will ensure the early completion of the branch’s secretariat building at Degema Consulate.
Chairman of the Branch, Victor Amachree, made this known while giving his welcome address during the ground-breaking ceremony of the NBA, Degema Secretariat building.
Amachree, who highlighted some of the challenges the construction of the NBA house might face, commended the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for his assistance, and the former Chairman of Degema Local Government Council, Abiye Davies, for donating the piece of land.
The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Amadi, represented by Justice Boma Diepreye, while performing the ground-breaking ceremony, said the judiciary would give the necessary assistance to the branch.
He added that Degema Division of the High Court had existed for long and deserved a strong Bar presence to serve the rights and needs of the people of the area.
In separate goodwill messages, dignitaries who witnessed the ceremony urged members of the Degema Branch to work in unity to see to the early completion of the building.
Some of the dignitaries in attendance included His Honour B. H. Ekine, Chairman of the Customary Court, Degema; Mazi Afam Osigwe and Chukwuka Ikwuazom, Senior Advocates of Nigeria; Soseipriala Long-Williams, Past Governor of the Eastern Bar Forum; Mr Ipalibo Bob-Manuel, Chairman of Kalabari Lawyers Forum; HRH, Tubotamuno Dick, Amanyanabo of Oproama; heads of security agencies, and members of the Bar and the judiciary.
