The Rivers State University (RSU), has held its 81st Inaugural Lecture centred on the topic: ‘Eating well and sleeping well in fragile financial markets: the banking dilemma and corporate financial puzzles’.
The inaugural lecture, which was delivered by Prof. Adolphus Joseph Toby at the university’s Senate Building, was to show how the policy action of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and banking institutions affect the depositors.

This Inaugural lecture today is particularly unique because it is coming from one of the biggest masquerades of this university.
“Inaugural Lectures play important role in the academic life of any university. It enablesprofessors to disseminate to the university community and the outside world the result of their several years of research in their area of specialisation.
“Such knowledge can ably be used either by government policy makers or industries to promote development in the society. It is also an avenue for showcasing or marketing the university to the outside world.”
In his Inaugural Lecture, Prof. Adolphus Joseph Toby, spoke “on the need to know your bank”.
