Schools’ Resumption: Commissioner Monitors Some Schools In PH
Commissioner for Education Prof. Chinedu Mmom has expressed satisfaction with the large member of teachers and students who turned out on the resumption day for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Prof. Mmom told journalists after monitoring some primary and Secondary schools resumption day on that almost 95 percent of teachers of the schools he visited were on ground to teach.
He specifically commended SS1 and SS2 students of Model Girls Secondary Schools Rumeme for turning out in their numbers on resumption day adding that the students were happy to reunite with their friends and teachers.
He also called on parents to release their children to go back to school, saying that academic activities have begun in earnest and keeping them back at home will put them at a disadvantaged position because Continuous Assessment has also begun.
The commissioner however frowned at State Primary Schools Nkpolu Oroworukwo where the pupils were few in number with all the teachers present and ready to teach.
However, the commissioner said the head teacher assured him that they would begin teaching immediately so that other pupils would be motivated to join them on the following day.
