PDP Boss Leads PVC Sensitisation Rally In Opobo/Nkoro
The Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Godwin Manfred Pepple, has led party stakeholders, leaders and faithful to a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) sensitisation rally in Opobo, the headquarters of the LGA.
The sensitisation rally kicked off with a colourful procession from Nkoro community through Kalaibiama to Opobo town, just as beautifully dressed women and energetic men and youths shared flyers and held one-on-one talks with people at the grassroots about the potency of the PVC.
The rally also provided an atmosphere of thanksgivings and words of appreciation to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for his love towards Opobo/Nkoro people.
In his speech, Pepple recounted the numerous projects sited in Opobo/Nkoro LGA, including the completion of Opobo/Nkoro axis of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Unity Road, commencement of Opobo reclamation project and his support that led to the emergence of Sir Siminialayi Fubara as the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 general election.
While speaking with the press immediately after the event, Pepple said it was necessary to educate the people on the need to get their PVCs ahead of the forthcoming election.
Lamenting the pains Nigerians were going through under the failed administration of the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government where there was no hope for many Nigerians, he said there was an urgent need to change the government in 2023 for the good of all Nigeria.
He added that the only way to salvage and rescue the nation from the clueless administration was to vote out the APC-led government by exercising their franchise and fundamental human rights to choose leaders of their choice.
In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Edison Ehie, encouraged party faithful to remain dogged and steadfast in their resolve to support their son, Siminialayi Fubara, who was the PDP gubernatorial candidate.
He assured that with the support of all stakeholders, Fubara would be victorious at the 2023 governorship election.
Member representing Bonny State Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Abinye Blessings Pepple; immediate past Council Boss, Hon Eugene Joshua Jaja; Opobo/Nkoro PDP Rivers State House of Assembly flag bearer, Hon Adolphus Orubieiemigha; former Commissioner IV, Civil Service Commission, Mrs Sotonye Toby Fulton, former CTC Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro, Hon Datubo Omubo-Pepple; and Senibo Emmanuel Oko-Jaja; were among party stakeholders, leaders and faithful that gave solidarity speeches centred on the need for eligible voters in the area to get their PVCs and participate actively in the electoral process.
The Opobo/Nkoro LGA PVC sensitisation rally, which was a huge success, climaxed with musical performance by local artists and cultural groups.
The event ended with town hall meeting at 11 wards where unit handlers were also inaugurated with the LGA party chairman visiting the wards.
