Gunmen Invade Rivers Community, Shoot Cleric Dead
Gunmen have killed one Pastor Abraham Yorka, after invading Oloko Community in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to a member of the community, who identified himself as Monday Piit, men of Oloko went to eat after working on a community farmland when they heard the shouts of women and children.
Piit disclosed that the gunmen burnt down houses, motorcycles and shot at people. He also alleged that some natives of the community were still missing.
He stated that it was later that the Oloko Community discovered it was a local vigilante group from a neigbouring community in Oyigbo Local Government Area that was behind the incident.
He said some of the persons, who escaped from the assailants, disclosed their identities.
The State Police Command’s, spokesperson, DSP Grace Irienge-Koko, could not be reached for comments at the time of filing this report.
