RSPHCMB Plans Free Healthcare For Pregnant Women, Children
As Maternal and Child Health Week holds across all health centres in the state, from February 28-March 4, 2022, the Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board, has resolved to commence free health services for pregnant mothers and children in the state.
Acting Director of Community Health Services, Dr Joy Wihioka, disclosed this at a one- day sensitisation meeting with stakeholders on Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week recently. Dr Wihioka said the free health services will commence from 28th of February to 4th of March, 2022.
She said the targeted group for the services will include, newborn, children under five years, pregnant mothers, caregivers of under 5, among others.
The Tide reports that the acting Health Educator, Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board, Dr Babo Diana, also spoke on community engagement in maternal newborn and child health.
