Youth Leader Commends Wike’s Developmental Strides
An influential youth leader in Rivers State, Comrade Destiny Amadi, the CEO of Destama Integrated Nigeria Ltd, has commended Governor Ezenwo Wike over his proactive stance in trying to stop all illegal oil bunkering activities that have exposed the State to the menace of soot.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt recently, Amadi enjoined well meaning Rivers men to join hands with Governor Wike in the fight against the ravaging black soot that had become a serious health hazard in the state.
His words: “I must not fail to give kudos to Governor Wike for his developmental strides towards transforming the state to better than how he met it since 2015”,
Meanwhile, he has called on Governor Nyesom Wike, the leader of PDP in Rivers State, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, national and state arm of PDP, to consider the clamour to zone the Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency seat to Omuma Local Government Area.
Amadi said the call has become imperative, having seen that Omuma LGA, over the years, has not gotten a fair deal in terms of producing candidates from the area to represent Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives compared with the number of times its sister LGA, Etche LGA, has benefitted from the slot.
“Honestly, from the available statistics, Etche LGA has produced four of her sons from 1999 till date, that represented Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency while Omuma LGA has produced only one candidate 2003-2011. It would be worth doing and very acceptable too to allow Omuma LGA come 2023, to produce a candidate,” he remarked.
Amadi believes that the member representing Omuma Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Kelechi Nwogu, is qualified to go for an effective representation at the Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency seat, having been tested and trusted, based on his pedigree and track records of effective service.
He thus enjoined men and women of Etche ethnic nationality to pull their weight behind Kelechi Nwogu.
