TMG Tasks Members On Election Participation
The State Coordinator of Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), a socio-political organisation in Nigeria, Barrister Nathaniel Akpos, has tasked members of the body to work towards ensuring mass participation in the electoral process.
Akpos who said this during the election of zonal coordinators of the organisation in Port Harcourt recently, members to go into the grass roots to mobilise the people to participate in the electoral process.
According to him, the organisation owes it a duty to think and work towards good governance, which would be achieved by mobilising people to participate in the ongoing voters registration exercise.
He charged the three zonal coordinators to take their work seriously by going into the grassroots to mobilise the people to vote for credible candidates during the 2023 general elections.
Also speaking, chairman of the electoral committee Barrister Agartha Osueke commended members for their mature behavior during the election.
She also charged them to take their assignment seriously adding that TMG which is number one pressure group in the country must maintain its position.
Meanwhile, the south-south zonal coordinator of the organisation, Mr. Silvester Okoduwa, thanked members for their support, affirming that TMG has not failed in election monitoring.
He said the group is promoting citizen participation in election as well as gender equality.
Okoduwa called on the state chapter to develop a work plan that will enable them discharge its functions effectively.
Those elected are:
Steven Oboduekwe for Rivers East, Mrs. Christy Iwezor for Rivers South East and Patrick Chikwe for Rivers West.
