FRSC Threatens Clampdown On Speeding Drivers
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has vowed to go tough on motorists flouting the law on speed limits.
A statement by Corps Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi said the defaulters were causing accidents, severe injuries and deaths.
Oyeyemi warned that disregard for safety regulations will not be tolerated in 2022.
“Flagrant disobedience to traffic safety rules would no longer be condoned in the new year as enforcement would be total”, he declared.
The agency advised Nigerians to drive safe in view of improved road rehabilitation and construction across the country.
Oyeyemi commended the conduct of most drivers during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He appealed to citizens to observe traffic rules and stay committed to COVID-19 safety protocols at all times.
The statement added that emergencies can be reported to FRSC toll-free line – 122, 08052998090 or 09067000015 for prompt responses.
