Policeman Kills Colleague With Dagger In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command said an off-duty police officer identified as Sergeant Akpoboloukeme has stabbed his colleague to death with a dagger over a minor misunderstanding.
This was contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, Asinim Butswat.
Butswat gave the identity of the victim as Sergeant Sapele Eyerindideke.
According to him, the incident happened last Thursday in the Edepie Area of Yenagoa, the state capital.
Butswat said the officer was trying to leave Bayelsa to another state after stabbing his colleague before he was arrested.
The statement said, “An off-duty police officer stabbed his colleague with a dagger to death in Yenagoa, over a minor misunderstanding.
“The incident occurred on 4th November 2021, at about 1900 hours at Edepie, Yenagoa. It was reported that Sergeant Akpoboloukeme ‘m’ stabbed his colleague, Sgt Sapele Eyerindideke ‘m’ over a minor misunderstanding. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
“The accused suspect immediately fled the scene and attempted to flee to a nearby state before he was arrested at the Glory Land gate.”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ben Okolo, ordered the detention of the officer.
