Go Round FC’s Impressive Form Excites President
The form of Go Round FC has improved, especially in the second round of the Nigeria National League, a development linked with the arrival of new players.
Go Round FC made 8 new additions to the team and Club President, Charity Obuah says she believes the new players and added discipline within the ranks have seen them move to second on the table and remain there for more than five match days.
Amongst players the club brought in during the midseason transfer window were Moses Omoduemeke, a returnee from Europe. He has so far scored three goals from three games he has played this season, against Ekiti United, Vandrezzer and Nnewi United.
Okon Otop, a former player of the team returned after a stint abroad and then at Vandrezzer and he has added more bite to the attack despite being injured after a knock in his first game.
Another key addition to the team has been Elkanah Godsgift who joined on loan from Abia Warriors. He has been immense between the sticks for the club.
Despite late clearance from Dynamites FC, Hadi Mohammed finally made his debut against Nnewi United where he had a man of the match performance with an assist for the first goal, a penalty and scoring the second.
Daniel Gotom, an academy player who joined the team has also done well. Returnees, Chris Ugboh and Gift Nwokeke have also done their bit in midfield and defence respectively.
Club President, Charity Obuah expressed her joy at the recent rise in form experienced by the side in the last couple of match days.
“The team has improved in terms of performance and results. This is what we have always wanted and we believe that this push can take us to where we want which is the top division next season,” Charity Obuah said.
“It is kudos to the coaches and management who recognised the players needed to plug certain loopholes as well as my husband and club financier who put the finances in to sustain the club and keep it afloat.
“It is all passion for the game and hopefully at some point, private owners of football clubs in Nigeria will begin to reap the benefits of their love for the game.
Go Round FC will next be at home to Delta Force at the Krisdera Hotel Stadium in Omoku.

Iwobi Optimistic On S’Eagles Qualification
Iwobi spoke to Tidesports source ahead of Nigeria’s crunch playoff semi-final against Gabon on Thursday, November 13, in Rabat, Morocco.
The 28-year-old was reacting to Nigeria’s shaky World Cup qualifying campaign that saw the Eagles finish second in Group C behind South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told Tidesports source.
We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world.”
The Fulham star pointed to Nigeria’s star power, highlighting African Footballer of the Year winners Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen as proof of the squad’s quality.
“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen),” he said.
“It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we have a lot of confidence. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
Nigeria’s path to the United States, Canada and Mexico has been turbulent, with two coaches departing during the early stages of qualifying before Éric Chelle steadied the ship to steer the Super Eagles into November’s CAF playoffs.
Four nations from the continent – Nigeria, Cameroon, DR Congo and Gabon – will vie for a solitary spot to compete in next March’s inter-confederation playoffs, with a view to joining the already nine qualified African nations at the Finals.
It would mark Iwobi’s second appearance at the World Cup Finals and the Super Eagles’ first since the 2018 edition of the competition.
Back then, Iwobi featured in all three games as Nigeria was knocked out in the group stage.
