Commissioner Tasks Youths On Peace
The commissioner in charge of Public Enlightenment and Civics Education, Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), Dr Barango Tariah, has called on youths in the state to shun cultism and other forms of antisocial behaviour.
Tariah said this in his office in Port Harcourt while being honoured with an award of excellence by Rivers State Joint Youth Assembly.
He said success in life does not come by violence but hard work, adding that running away from vices is the only way to excel in life.
The commissioner said his peaceful approach to issues was what has made him what he is today and urged them to always use dialogue in resolving issues affecting them in the society.
“I want to enjoin youths to remain focused, hard working, determined and have an idea which principally can fuel their potentials”, he said.
He commended the body for finding him worthy for the award, adding that the society is appreciating the little he had done.
Earlier, Rivers State Joint Youth Assembly leader, Gashion Bob-Achor said the award which was based on Tariah’s performance was premised on the just concluded local government election in the state.
