Reciprocate Govt’s Gesture, RSU VC Tasks Workers
As workers in Rivers State join her counterparts across the country to celebrate the 2019 Workers Day, the Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu -Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt Prof. Blessing Chimezie Didia has urged workers in the state to reciprocate government gesture by redoubling their efforts toward optimal production.
Prof Didia commended staff of the University for their invaluable contributions toward the realisation of the University’s mandate and attributed the success story recorded so far by his leadership to the understanding and support of the hardworking and disciplined workforce committed in the growth and development of the premier University.
He averred that the cooperation and unwavering supports received from all the Industrial unions, especially in subverting industrial action was responsible for the peace and uninterrupted academic calendar in the institution.
The VC said his leadership had sustained a robust welfare scheme as well as created an enabling environment for all categories of staff to perform their duties and responsibilities accordingly.
Prof Didia who stated this in a statement Signed by the Registrar of the University, Sydney Enyindah, to felicitate with workers of the institution and state at large on the occasion of May Day Celebration praised the workers for maintaining what he described as an excellent working relationship with management since his assumptions of duties.
He further commended, Governor Nyesom Wike, for fulfilling his promises to staff of the University, especially for the approval and payment of enhanced salary package, thereby making them highest paid university staff in the country.
The Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University while congratulating the workers on the May Day celebration, enjoined them to reciprocate the gesture of Governor Nyesom Wike by redoubling their efforts in the building of a world class university.
