RSHA Passes Arbitration, Multi-Door Court Bill …Begins Debate On Budget, Today
The Rivers State House of Assembly has passed Arbitration and Multi Door Court House bills 2018 into law.
Shortly after resuming sitting after the new year holidays Monday, the House however deferred debate on the 2019 Appropriation bill to Wednesday.
Already, the Appropriation bill has passed second reading. Before the bills were passed into law, the report of the House Committee on Judiciary were subjected to the entire House for debate to eliminate grey areas.
Leader of the House, Hon.Martins Amaewhule and member representing Emohua State Constituency, Hon Sam Ogeh sought for quick passage of the bills.
However, member representing Obio/Akpor II, Hon.Michael Chinda pointed out the need to ensure there were no duplications.
He argued that the panel for the new court should be constituted to avert lopsidedness. It was thereafter that the House Committee on the whole was approved that the report and the two bills were passed into law.
