3 Days After Abducting Anglican Bishop …Kidnappers Yet To Make Demands …As Police Begins Manhunt
Three days after the abduction of the Diocesan Primate of Ahoada Anglican Archedeconry, Bishop Clement Ekpeye by unknown gunmen, the kidnappers are yet to contact either the family or the Church to make their demands.
The situation, The Tide Correspondent in the area, gathered is causing serious tension and anxiety not only among the immediate family but also the entire archdeaconry.
The incident according to family source occurred last Tuesday when the hoodlums used ladder to gain entry into the Bishop’s residence along Odiemerenyi road.
According to the story, the gunmen on gaining access into the building went straight to the kitchen and held the Bishop’s female cook hostage, the shout of the lady attracted the Victim who at the time was resting in his parlour, on sighting the man of God, the source said, they left the girl, and went for their target, forcing him into his own car and left before neighbors could render any help.
The source further said that anxiety heightened as the car was returned that night without removing anything inside it, no ward had been had from them.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has assured members of Anglican Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the State that the kidnapped Anglican Bishop, Rt. Rev. Clement Ekpeye would regain his freedom, as it was working tirelessly to ensure his timely release from his captors.
