RSG Inaugurates Late Aguma’s Burial Committee
Rivers State Governor,
Chief Nyesom Wike has inaugurated the State Committee for the funeral of Late Honourable Attorney General of Rivers State, Honourable Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma.
Inaugurating the committee at the Government House, Port Harcourt last Friday, Governor Wike charged the committee members to ensure that the Late Attorney-General receives a befitting burial.
Governor Wike said that the elaborate State Burial Committee is on the premise of the outstanding contributions to the development of the state.
The governor said that the committee cuts across different sectors of the state to ensure that all facets that were linked to the Former Attorney General of Rivers State participate actively in the burial.
”We are doing this because of his contributions to the growth of the state. That is why we have an elaborate committee.
”All sectors are represented to ensure that we give him a befitting burial. The family, the bar association, works ministry, friends, political parties are all involved.
”This is a committee to give our friend and brother a befitting burial. This is a painful thing. Let’s work to give him the last respect”.
He charged the committee to ensure that the comprehensive programme for the burial is available by Wednesday next week.
”All of you in this committee must commit yourselves to burial committee. Put in your best”, he said.
Chairman of the State Committee for the Funeral of the Late Attorney-General of Rivers State, Rt Hon Austin Opara said though he wished the committee was for the celebration of the outstanding qualities of Late Emmanuel Aguma, the members submit themselves to the will of God.
He described the death of the Attorney General of Rivers State as painful.
”It is a sad thing that we have to bury him at this time. Your Excellency, we share in your grief.
