Constituency Projects: Majority Leader Salutes Gov
Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Martins Amaewhule has commended the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for the numerous projects sited in his constituency.
Amaewhule who represents Obio/Akpor 1 in the State House of Assembly gave the commendation at the weekend during project tour and inspection of his 2017 Constituency projects.
The legislator who visited the Elelenwo/Akpajo Road expansion, Mother and Child Hospital at Airforce Base by Rumuomasi, observed that the projects were of good quality and will improve the welfare of citizens.
He described Wike as visionary and focused in the delivering of his campaign promises to the people of the constituency and urged the citizenry to support the administration.
“Am aware that a lot of legislators in other state Houses of Assembly don’t have any project of this sort. Here in Rivers State, we have a governor that allows legislators to embark on projects like this”, Amaewhule remarked.
Meanwhile, some market women at Rumuwhu Market by the Railway have commended the Obio/Akpor 1 legislator for providing a conducive and modern facility for them to display their wares.
Mrs Edith Wokone prayed God to bless the lawmaker and sustain him in his future endeavour, as she emphasised that the new market will reduce their plight since many of them don’t have a place to sell their goods.
Also, Mrs Oluchi Orendu said, “We have not seen anything like this before. As you can see, the market is befitting and will encourage petty traders to grow in the area”.

APC Unveils New NWC At National Convention
Delegates at the convention, held at the Eagle Square, also produced a new national working committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement endorsed by stakeholders.
Dr Ben Nwoye was named deputy national chairman (south), replacing Mr Emma Eneukwu, following consultations within the party.
Sources within the party said the decision was influenced by zoning considerations and consultations among party leaders, with Mr Peter Mbah, Enugu State governor, playing a significant role in ensuring Dr Nwoye’s inclusion.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Yilwatda said his re-election was a call to greater service and pledged commitment to unity within the ruling party.
“We are ready to serve, ready to lead, and we are ready to build the party, together with the nation,” he said.
He added that the new leadership would not “fail or falter” in carrying out its responsibilities.
President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, governors, members of the national assembly, and other party leaders graced the convention.
