RSU To Partner Foundation On Knowledge Advancement, Research
The Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, Prof. Blessing Chimezie Didia, has expressed the institution’s readiness in partnering with the Selemati Foundation on knowledge advancement and research.
Prof. Didia gave this indication last Tuesday, when the Board of Directors of the Selemati Foundation led by Emeritus Professor Dagogo Fubara paid him a courtesy call1in his office in Port Harcourt.
The Vice Chancellor, who expressed profound gratitude for their visit, said the university is always looking forward in collaborating with institutions and organisations whose objective is geared towards the growth and development of the institution. and the society at large.
He explained that his essence of establishing the Advancement and Linkages Centres, Entrepreneurial Centres and the five-year development plans of the university is to create room for proper collaboration with institutions or organizations, for the advancement of the university.
Prof. Didia said he accepted to collaborate with the foundation for the promotion of knowledge in the area of Environmental Sciences, Law, Medicine and create a forum for international exchange of ideas between academic scholars and practitioners on the said areas.
Earlier, the leader of the team, Emeritus Professor Dagogo Fubara expressed delight in the leadership of the Vice Chancellor and thanked him for the warm reception accorded to its members, adding that, the establishment of Selemati Foundation arose from the last will and testament of Nwobidike Nwanodi whose ambition was to support the development of an internationally recognized tertiary education system in Nigeria.
Prof Fubara disclosed that the vision of its organisation is to establish a first-class tertiary education environment in Nigeria where Nigerians, regardless of their gender, ethnicity and religious beliefs, disability, economic position could compete faviourably and added that the organisation would provide a platform for the institution to collaborate with schoolars and practitioeners from abroad if partnered with.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt.
